Description

Short title: Norris v Thomas.

Plaintiff(s): Henry Norris, Rees Lowres, John Matthew, William ap John ap William, John ap Jevan ap David, Jevan ap John, Thomas ap John Griffith ap David, Morgan Howell, William Prichard ap Robert Humfrey ap Morgan, Thomas Lewes, and others, tenants of the town of Dinorwick.

Defendant(s): William Thomas Williams alias William Williams,farmer of Dinorwick Manor, Simon Williams.

Subject of depositions: "Use, possession, and occupation" of certain lands, in the manor of Dinorwick, now or late in the several tenures, possessions, or occupations of the plaintiffs. (Alleged threats of expulsion and extortionate and oppressive conduct of defendant, and of Thomas Williams (his father) and predecessor), lessees to the Crown of the township, against the plaintiffs and others, tenants of the township. [A lease of the township by Henry VIII. to Henry Webb, about the year 26 Henry VIII. is mentioned].

Date of commission: 15 June 1597.
