Description

Short title: Saltonstall v Gargrave.

Plaintiff(s): Gilbert Saltonstall.

Defendant(s): Richard Gargrave, Ralph Gargrave.

Subject of depositions: Late monastery of St Oswald (Yorkshire), the church and churchyard of Wragby, a house near such church, and two closes called "Wragby Wood" and "Laughton;" whether the premises were parcel of said latemonastery. Concerning the Rectory of Wragby. Tithes. [Sir Thomas Leigh, Sir Thomas Chaloner, Sir Thomas Gargrave, Sir Cotton Gargrave, sometime owners of the monastery, Richard Pickman, lessee of Wragby parsonage to the Crown, Alexander Williams, Thomas Leigh, D.C.L. Lord Mountjoy, and Sir Thomas Savile, owners of the Site of the monastery, are mentioned].

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 15 June 1597.
