Description

Short title: Lockton v Doughtie.

Plaintiff(s): John Lockton, in the behalf of Her Majesty.

Defendant(s): Anthony Doughtie, John Tuttoft.

Subject of depositions: Port of Boston (Lincolnshire) of which plaintiff is comptroller and defendants are customers (i.e. collectors of customs). Alleged malpractices and misconduct of defendants in execution of such office, and in superseding Thomas Bennett the late "customer" of the port.

County/place: Lincolnshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1597.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 23 March 1597 at Boston.
