Description

Short title: Lloyd v Evans.

Plaintiff(s): Edward Lloyd, Her Majesty's farmer of the forest in the lordship or manor of Uchcoyd, Arwystlie (Montgomery).

Defendant(s): Griffith Evans, Jevan ap Ednevett, Jevan Lloyd Tud', Lewis Griffith.

Subject of depositions: "Forest, frith, or waste ground" called "Fryth alty brayne" otherwise called "The forest of Talgarth" in the parish of Treveglos, in the lordship of Uwchkoed Arwystly (Montgomeryshire). Common of pasture. Metes and bounds. [Thomas Corbet (plaintiff's father-in-law), a survey of said lordship, and of the lordship of Iscoyd, taken by the late Earl of Leicester, a rent of 13s 4d paid for the forest before the survey, and raised to 4l. after the survey, are mentioned].

County/place: Montgomeryshire.

Date of commission: 26 November 1596.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 4 January 1597 at Treveglos, certificate dated 6 January 1597 and 6 October 1597.
