Description

Short title: Cartwright v Bishop of Rochester.

Plaintiff(s): William Cartwright, John Richers.

Defendant(s): John Bishop of Rochester, Nicholas Nicholson, William Muddell, Robert Hamond, George Fleet.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Wouldham, sometime of "Raffe of Wouldham" now parcel of the possessions of the Dean and Chapter of Rochester, the manor of Sellers, and other the lands and grounds of Nicholas Bewly, gent, in the town and parish of Wouldham; whether they were anciently the lands of Robert, of Wouldham, and John at Sellers. The late monastery of West Malling, the parsonage of Wouldham, and the possessions of Lady Fitzjames and Hugh Cartwright. Tithes.

County/place: Kent.

Date of commission: 19 November 1596.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 14 January 1597 at Aylesford.
