Description

Short title: Dymock v Cotes.

Plaintiff(s): David Dymock, alderman, of Chester, John Francis (tanner), churchwardens of the parish church of St John the Baptist, in Chester.

Defendant(s): Alexander Cotes, gent, Thomas Burges (dyer).

Subject of depositions: Late dissolved collegiate church of St John the Baptist, in the cityof Chester, the tithes, of which are claimed by defendants as fee farmer to the Crown of the premises. Survey of the repairs of the church, etc.

County/place: Cheshire.

Date of commission: 30 June 1596.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 16 August 1596 and 13 September 1596 at Chetser, certificate dated 14 October 1596.
