Description

Short title: Cook v Harrison.

Plaintiff(s): Edward Cook, esq, Her Majesty's Attorney General, at the relation of Katherine Barber, widow.

Defendant(s): Roger Harrison, Emma Halam, widow, Dennis Backhouse, Agnes [illegible], Thomas Platts.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to cottages, lands, and tenements in Stony Middleton (Derbyshire),and lands in Hassope (Derbyshire); whether said premises were lands devoted to "superstitious uses" or parcel of the possessions of the Earl of Shrewsbury, and used for the support of divine service.

County/place: Derbyshire.

Date of commission: 30 June 1596.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 21 September 1596 at Stony Middleton.
