Description

Short title: Beale v Arkenstall.

Plaintiff(s): Godfrey Beale, Robert Beale, Robert Lelfoole, Ralph Boyce.

Defendant(s): Richard Arkenstall, William Stirman, Christopher Pryor, Arthur Heines,.

Subject of depositions: Manors of Whittlesey, St Mary and St Andrew, in the Isle of Ely, lately in the possession of the abbey of Thorney. Jurisdiction of the Bishop of Ely in the Isle. Customs of manor, particularly as regards the execution of the offices of bailiwick and "swannard" in the manors.

County/place: Cambridgeshire.

Date of commission: 26 June 1596.
