Description

Short title: Lewys v Johnson.

Plaintiff(s): Edward Lewys, Henry Dobby, Thomas Blades and his wife Elizabeth , Leonard Brewster, John Holtbie, Richard Wright, copyholders of Her Grace's manor of Claxbie.

Defendant(s): Richard Johnson, Robert Thorpe, Allen Harrison.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Claxbie (Lincolnshire). Waste and spoil of woods. Titles to copyholds. Defacing of boundary marks, etc. [Richard Bolles and Robert Thorp, sometime farmers of such manor, and Mr Richard Johnson, counsellor-at-law, purchaser of a lease of the manor, are mentioned].

County/place: Lincolnshire.

Date of commission: 24 May 1596.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 2 June 1596 at Alford.
