Description

Short title: Kidd v Thompson.

Plaintiff(s): William Kidd, Charles Wilson.

Defendant(s): William Thompson, Matthew Storie, Abraham Wright, Thomas Shemyn.

Subject of depositions: "Wapentake, lordship, and dominion" of Holderness (Yorkshire), in the possession of Sir Henry Constable, and the towns of North Frodingham and Seaton (Yorkshire); whether such towns are within the jurisdiction of the wapentake. Customs of lordship. Touching a distraint made by defendants (officers of wapentake) upon plaintiffs (inhabitants of North Frodingham).

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 24 November 1595.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 12 January 1596 at Hornsey.
