Description

Short title: Grindall v Brockholes.

Plaintiff(s): John Grindall.

Defendant(s): Thomas Brockholes, William Lister.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to a parcel of land called "The Upper Wray" or "The Wray" with a tithe barn thereon; whether parcel of the manor of Hensingham belonging to Thomas Skelton, a ward of the Crown, and son of Thomas Skelton; and touching the lordship of Weddikar (Lancashire), belonging to the Marquis of Dorset. Metes and bounds. Touching alleged disobedience of defendants to an injunction arising out of a suit in the court of wards about the premises. [The possessions of the late cell of St Bees, Cumberland, are mentioned].

County/place: Cumberland; Lancashire.

Date of commission: 28 November 1595.
