Description

Short title: Toy v Tipper.

Plaintiff(s): Griffith Toy, M.A.

Defendant(s): William Tipper, Robert Daw.

Subject of depositions: "The Frier House in the town of Brechon" suppressed, 27 Henry VIII. and the college of Abergwyllie (Carmarthenshire), suppressed by William Barloe, Bishop of St Davids, about the year 32 Hen VIII, and "translated and transferred" by said bishop about the year 32 Hen VIII, to the said dissolved Friar House, "to continue by the name of Christ's College at Brechon." Touching the prebendal churches of Llangamargh, Llamolthwlle, Trallong, and Carthbrengie (Brecon), Llanbister, St Harmone, Llangunllo, Llandegley, Llandilo, Llandrindod, Clirowe, Boughrwde, Llansantfred, Llanelwedd (Radnorshire), Moughtre (Montgomeryshire), Nantgunlley, Llandigwy, and Lledrod (Cardigan), Llandissilio (Pembrokeshire), Llanvynyth, Llantharog, Llanarthney (Carmarthenshire), and the prebendaries, schoolmasters, and others to the college belonging.

Date of commission: 2 June 1595.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 28 August 1595 at Brecon, 11 September 1595 at Carmarthen, certificate dated 20 September 1595 and 2 October 1595.
