Description

Short title: Langdale v Etherington.

Plaintiff(s): Marmaduke Langdale.

Defendant(s): George Etherington, William Etherington, Richard Etherington.

Subject of depositions: Capital mansion of the late dissolved collegiate church of Lowthorpe, and the appurtenances (Yorkshire), the rectory and church of Lowthorpe (Yorkshire), and the chapel of Rowston(Yorkshire). Tithes. [A grant of the premises by the Crown to Thomas Eynes alias Haynes, dated 17 November 8 Eliz; another dated 2 July 26 Eliz to Elizabeth Eynes, conveyed by her to Robert Man, and by him to the Earl of Hunts (Lord President in the North), by him to Sir Edward Hastings, by him to Ralph Westropp, and by him to plaintiff; and the lands of Sir Robert Constable are mentioned].

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 2 June 1595.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 18 August 1595 at York.
