Description

Short title: Bowes v Hedlam.

Plaintiff(s): Ralph Bowes.

Defendant(s): Brian Hedlam, Ralph Fryar, Brian Boys, Henry Otterborne, Robert Wright, William Judgson, Robert Dawkyns.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Kirby Moreside (Yorkshire), held by plaintiff of the Crown by Letters Patent under the great seal, dated 28 August 13 Eliz, and since renewed about the year 24 Eliz, being parcel of the possessions of the Earl of Westmorland, attainted. Value of the manor. Customs of manor. Alleged diversion by defendant of custom of "suit and grist" from the ancient mills in the manor by the erection of a horse-mill there.

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 2 June 1595.
