Description

Short title: Vernon v Herbert.

Plaintiff(s): Edward Vernon.

Defendant(s): Richard Herbert, of Montgomery, David ap James, Moris ap Jevan ap Gruff, Gruff ap David ap Llewellin, John ap David Vaughan.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to the rectory or parsonage of Llanvayer, in Kerynyon (Montgomeryshire). [Various leases of the rectory made by the Crown, 1 February 7 Eliz, to Thomas Ellis and Laurence Manley for 21 years, conveyed by them to Edward Herbert (defendant's father), another lease, dated 11 July 28 Eliz, made by the Crown to Ralph Bowyer, for 21 years. Lease in reversion by Crown to Lodowick Lloid, serjeant-at-arms to Her Majesty, conveyed by him to Jevan ap Matthew, and by him to defendant Herbert, are mentioned].

County/place: Montgomeryshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1595.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 6 March 1595 at Llanvair, certificate dated 6 May 1595.
