Description

Short title: Lord Cobham v Parker.

Plaintiff(s): William Lord Cobham.

Defendant(s): Thomas Parker and Sibell his wife (late wife of Jerom Barnard).

Subject of depositions: Manor of Upton St Leonard's, in the city of Gloucester, leased by the monastery of St Peter, Gloucester, dated 2 October 30 Eliz, to Sir Anthony Kingston (by the then name and title of Anthony Kingston, esq), which Stephen Little then late occupied, with the exception of lands in Kimsbury (Gloucestershire), and elsewhere, at a yearly rent of 66s 8d for the term of 90 years; whether a former lease was made to Anthony, 29 Henry VIII, assigned by Anthony to John Barnard and Elizabeth his wife, and by Elizabeth to Jerom Barnard, and by him to Anthony Kingston and John Palmer. Grant by Edward VI to Sir Anthony Kingston, £49 2s 9d reserved for fee-farm upon such manor in grant of it by Crown to plaintiff. Value of the manor. [Lord Chandos and Sir William Knowles are mentioned].
