Description

Short title: Killigrew v Burd.

Plaintiff(s): Henry Killigrew, kt.

Defendant(s): John Burd.

Subject of depositions: "Prises" brought by Captain Riddlestone (defendant's partner) into the harbour of Plymouth (Devon); what wines were so brought in; where unladen; what "prisage" paid thereon? etc. [It is deposed that there were two "prises ", "laden with Spanish wines from the "islands of the Canaries" each "prise" containing above a hundred tons of wine, sold at above £20 the ton].

County/place: Devon.

Date of commission: 4 July 1593.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 28 September 1593 at Saltash, Cornwall.
