Description

Short title: Cavendish v Moore.

Plaintiff(s): Augustine Cavendish.

Defendant(s): William Moore.

Subject of depositions: Lease of the manor of Winthorp (Lincolnshire), being the jointure or dower of Mary Candysshe (Cavendish), of Ipswich, widow, sometime wife of William Candisshe, the reversion to Thomas Candisshe her son. Touching "Welbie lands" parcel of the manor, formerly belonging to Richard Welbie, and now in defendant's hands; whether they are parcel of the manor. [A close in Brough, called "Mary Croft" John Weshlehead, a deed, dated 9 Ric 2, whereby Thomas the son of Simon of Drybie, conveys to Simon of Burton and John Mears his lands in Winthorp, Ingolmells, and Brough, i.e. the homage, of Roger of Welbie, and Margaret his wife, of John Hurton, Robert Grenewick, and others. Also a court roll of 18 Henry 6 and a survey, 2 and 3 Philip and Mary, in which Robert and Chas. Whiting are mentioned].
