Description

Short title: Bulkeley v Bavand.

Plaintiff(s): Sir Richard Bulkeley, kt.

Defendant(s): Richard Bavand, and David Lloyd, aldermen.

Subject of depositions: Payment of "price wines" to Her Majesty in the port of Chester, and in Conway and Carnarvon (Caernarfonshire), and Bewmaris (Anglesea), and the farming of the "prisage" of wines, or "butlerage" of the wines by the plaintiff, and the mayor, of Chester. Customs of the port of Chester touching "prisage" of all wines brought thereinto by ships. Jurisdiction of the port. [The Right Honorable Lord Buckhurst, Chief Butler of England, is mentioned].

County/place: Cheshire; Caernarfonshire; Anglesea.

Date of commission: 16 November 1592.
