Subject of depositions: Hospital and chapel of Mary Magdalen, near the town of Bawtrey (Yorkshire), in the gift of the Archbishop of York, parcel of the late priory of St Oswald's, of Nostell (Yorkshire). Alleged profanation of and injury to the hospital and chapel by defendant, John Noble and Thomas Short, James Brewster, "pretended master" of the hospital, and John Cowper, M.A. clerk, collated and instituted into the hospital by plaintiff (the Archbishop of York), in the place of Brewster, who was deprived "for his abuse. ".
