Description

Short title: Bentley v Buckley.

Plaintiff(s): Ralph Bentley, Thomas Campion, late bailiffs of Derby.

Defendant(s): William Buckley.

Subject of depositions: Churches of All Saints, St Michael, St Alkmond, St Warbrige; whether they are accounted parish churches. Touching also a chapel standing on Derby Bridge, called St Mark's Chapel. Whether a commission was issued in the reign of Edward VI, to enquire of lands in Derby given for "superstitious uses ".

County/place: Derbyshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1592.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 27 March 1592 at Derby.
