Description

Short title: Mayor of Southampton v Bysse.

Plaintiff(s): Mayor, bailiffs, and burgesses of the town and county of Southampton.

Defendant(s): Phillip Bysse, Richard Bysse, James Bysse, William Stroud, Anne Allambridge, widow.

Subject of depositions: Refusal of defendants to pay a duty on wool (brought from the Isle of Wight) at Lymington, a member of the port of Southampton. Port dues and customs of Southampton.

County/place: Hampshire.

Date of commission: 23 June 1591.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 23 September 1591 at New Savum.
