Description

Short title: Giles v Carye.

Plaintiff(s): John Giles.

Defendant(s): George Carye.

Subject of depositions: Collection of the first payment of the subsidy (granted to Her Majesty, 29 Eliz I) within the hundreds of Haytor, Colrudge, Stanborroughe, Ermington, Plympton, Roborough, Tavistock, and Liston (Devonshire), and the appointment of Robert Cate by plaintiff as his under-collector at the request of defendant (who promised to be security for him) ; alleged defalcation of Robert Cate, in the payment of moneys received by him, as under-collector, for the subsidy.
