Description

Short title: Coppinger v Chapman.

Plaintiff(s): Ambrose Coppinger, of the city of London.

Defendant(s): John Chapman, merchant, of Kingston-on-Hull.

Subject of depositions: A ship called the 'Mary Fortune' of Hull, laden at Bordeaux with wines, and wrecked on the Goodwin Sands. Transfer of the wines from Sandwich to Kingston-upon-Hull. Customs among merchants.

County/place: France; Yorkshire; Kent.

Date of commission: 28 November 1590.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 13 and 20 January 1591.
