Description

Short title: Gannill v Johnes.

Plaintiff(s): Edmund Gannill, alderman.

Defendant(s): Thomas Johnes.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to a parcel of land in the city of Chester, near the River Dee, called by plaintiff "Emsey" and by defendant "Claverton Meadow." Whether parcel of the late monastery of the nuns in Chester, andgranted by said nunnery to Richard Anmon Cooke and Ellen his wife, and occupied at the dissolution by said Richard, paying 5s. rent to the Crown, and the same rent afterwards to Edward Planckney, the King's farmer. Metes and bounds of the premises. A lease of the premises made by the Bishop of Chester to James, son to Richard Anmon Cooke, dated 10 January, 33 Hen VIII. [The names and possessions of Randle Buckley, Ellen Anmon, wife of William Anmon, Ellen Planckney, widow of Edward Planckney, farmer to the Crown of the manor of Handbridge, parcel of said nunnery; lands in Claverton, called "Emsey" John Mynshall, Richard Mynshall, Mr Vernon; lands in Middlewich (Cheshire); the Hospital of the Lepers of St Giles, of Boughton, in the city of Chester, Harry Medwall, keeper of said hospital, Johan Brett, prioress of said nunnery, Peter Mainwaring, keeper of said hospital, Ralf Wright, and Ann his wife, Peter Wright, Richard Dutton, Thomas Middleton, Richard Hurleston, and Richard Spenser, are mentioned].
