Description

Short title: Bostock v Tanfield.

Plaintiff(s): Thomas Bostock, Her Majesty's farmer.

Defendant(s): Lawrence Tanfield.

Subject of depositions: Manor of Brodewell (Oxfordshire), and lands, in Kelmescott, Over Filkins, and Nether Filkins, in the tenures of Thomas Ballyes, -- Newman, and -- Callys; whether the manor, were the inheritance of John Thompson (a recusant), and demised by him to defendant. Touching an extent of the lands (under Exchequer Writ), made 24 April, 27 Eliz I. Value of the lands forfeited for recusancy. What time such lease was made to defendant?.

County/place: Oxfordshire.

Date of commission: 8 July 1590.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 1 September 1590 at Gloucester, certificate dated 8 September 1590.
