Description

Short title: Nowell v Bridgwood.

Plaintiff(s): James Nowell.

Defendant(s): Thomas Bridgwood.

Subject of depositions: Lands in Pelsall (Staffordshire); whether parcel of the late chantry there; whether belonging to the manor of Wolverhampton; whether the manor belongs to the Dean of Windsor (Berkshire); whether Richard Harvey, priest, was appointed curate to the chapel by Edward Leveson, farmer to the dean of the manor of Wolverhampton? whether the lands are "concealed lands" or copyhold of the manor? Customs of the manor. [The names and possessions of John Clowes, chaplain of said chapel, Ralph Clowes, Margery Clowes, William Heath, lands in Pelsall, called Gunston's, a grant from the Crown to Gilbert Wakeringe, Robert Rowbotham, chaplain; and various commissions ([?] May, 31 Eliz I), and anterior to Edward VI to survey the lands, are mentioned].
