Description

Short title: Beacon v Whitfield.

Plaintiff(s): Basell Beacon, clerk.

Defendant(s): Clement Whitfield, Herbert Whitfield.

Subject of depositions: Right and title of the parson of Warehorne to 32 acres of land. A suit was brought by John Dunne against Thomas Knell, late parson of Warehorne, by information of intrusion "supposing said lands to be concealed" from the Crown. Whether said premises are parcel of the manor of Tinton? Whether purchased by Christopher Carlisle for Lord Wentworth, of the Crown as concealed lands, and had by Richard Tuck from Lord Wentworth. [The names and possessions of John Gibson, farmer to Sir Anthony Aucher, farmer of said parsonage, Sir John Whittington, curate of Warehorne, Joseph Whitte, his executor, Stephen Cowper, John Fowle, serjeant-at-arms, Lewis ap Rhys, Richard Yonge, priory of Horton, and the bounds of Romney Marsh, are mentioned].
