Description

Short title: Dean of Chichester v Coppinger.

Plaintiff(s): Dean and Chapter of Chichester, and Henry Ball, chanter of the said Cathedral.

Defendant(s): Edmund Coppinger, Elizabeth Palmer, widow of William Palmer.

Subject of depositions: Right and title to the manor of Hulters alias Hulstre alias Hilters (Sussex); whether the chanter of the said Cathedral has been until lately owner of the said manor. Metes and bounds. Concealed lands? [The name of John Beacon, DCL, is mentioned].

County/place: Sussex.

Date of commission: 28 November 1589.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 28 January 1590 at the Common Hall in Chichester Cathedral.
