Description

Short title: Arden v Warner.

Plaintiff(s): John Arden.

Defendant(s): Edward Warner, John Morfett alias Murfett.

Subject of depositions: New wharf and wall commonly called Wapping Wall, in the parish of Whitechapel (Middlesex); whether built by John Stepkine (deceased), grandfather to John Stepkine, now living; whether built on theframe of Carter's Wharf alias Sir William Winter's Wharf. Extent of said wharf made by the Crown. Alleged expulsion of plaintiffs by defendants from the wharf. Whether the wharf was granted by the Hospital of St Thomas of Acon, in London, by lease under Exchequer Seal to Robert Wyatt. Touching the repair of wharf. [Alice Stepkine, Barnaby Bestowe, Robert Cheyney, and William Kuevett, are mentioned].

County/place: Middlesex.

Date of commission: 18 June 1589.
