Subject of depositions: Right and title of the Crown to lands in Darley and Smalley (Derbyshire), lately granted by Queen Elizabeth, to Thomas Shotton, by Letters Patent, dated 20 July, 29 Eliz I; whether the lands were left for superstitious uses i.e. to find priests to say mass in the parish church of Darley, and the chapel of Smalley, called St Peter's Chapel. [The names and possessions of Henry Stephenson, Elizabeth Stevenson, Robert Bullock, Steven Badesley, John Bradley, Margery Barker, John Butt, Anthony Flint, Joan Ward, Thomas Taylor, Robert Donne, Anthony Senyor, Thomas Wilcockson, William Riley, and Richard Ashton, are mentioned].
