Description

Short title: Bagshaw v Temple.

Plaintiff(s): Edward Bagshaw.

Defendant(s): Richard Temple.

Subject of depositions: Four messuages and five gardens in More Street, in New Windsor, sometime parcel of the possessions of the guild in New Windsor, called Trinity Guild, and whether let by the Crown to Nicholas Bartlet, at a reserved rent of 21s 8d; touching the "town book" of said town; alleged false entries made in the book. [A grant by the guild to William Symons, mayor of New Windsor, made by Richard Archard and Edward Kenner, wardens, and said fraternity in the 33rd year of Henry VIII. Whether soon after William Symons was mayor of New Windsor, he was punished for perjury "and did ride with a paper in his hat or cap with one Doctor London, in the town of Windsor, with their faces to the horses tayle. "? [Henry Holden, sometime mayor of the town, Elizabeth Symonds, John Heyward, and Matthew Figg, are mentioned].
