Description

Short title: Wood v Woodruffe.

Plaintiff(s): George Wood, the elder, and Anne his wife, George Wood, the younger, and Jennett his wife.

Defendant(s): George Woodruffe, John Vallance.

Subject of depositions: Water corn-mills on the River Derne, in the town of Monk Bretton, in the parish of Royston, held by plaintiff of the Crown. Alleged interference of defendants with water to the mills, by the erection of "smithies" or iron mills on the river.

County/place: Yorkshire.

Date of commission: 12 February 1588.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 2 April 1588 at Barnsley.
