Description

Short title: Carrill v Gratwick.

Plaintiff(s): Edward Carrill.

Defendant(s): Roger Gratwick.

Subject of depositions: Forest of St Leonards, ironworks in the same, the manor of Chesworth, Ashley Mills, and the two disparked parks of Chesworth and Sedgwick (Sussex). Alleged waste and spoil by defendant in the forest, and touching his interference with the proper working of mines in the aforesaid premises. [A grant of the premises to John Blenerhasset and William Dix, by Letters Patent from Queen Elizabeth I and Mr Covert, are mentioned].

County/place: Sussex.

Date of commission: 12 February 1588.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 10 and 11 April 1588 at Horsham.
