Description

Short title: Thornborough v Smith.

Plaintiff(s): John Thornborough, clerk, master of the Savoy, and the perpetual chaplains of the same.

Defendant(s): John Smith.

Subject of depositions: Grant made by Thomas Thurland, the master and the chaplains of the Savoy Hospital (London), to John Swift, of London, of a tenement, in Mile End, in the parish of Stebunheth (Middlesex), touching "the great messuage" adjoining said messuage, etc. [A grant by William Lamb, dated 20 August 18 Eliz I to the mayor, of London, of the premises to the use of Christ's Hospital, Bridewell, is mentioned].

County/place: London; Middlesex.

Date of commission: 9 June 1586.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 15 June 1586 at the churchhouse in the churchyard of St Clement Danes.
