Description

Short title: Mayor of Clifton v French.

Plaintiff(s): The mayor and burgesses of the town of Clyfton, Dartmouth, Hardnes.

Defendant(s): William French, Richard Cranch, Rt. Vincent.

Subject of depositions: Towns of Dartmouth and Salcomb, and the privileges, of the office of bailiwick of Dartmouth; whether the inhabitants of the town of Salcomb are liable to pay toll and subsidies to the plaintiffs, or are exempted from such payments as tenants of the duchy of Cornwall.

County/place: Devon; Cornwall.

Date of commission: 26 June 1585.
