Description

Short title: Tofte v Swifte.

Plaintiff(s): Godfrey Tofte, informer, Her Majesty tenants, Edward Hudspeth, Thomas Heireson.

Defendant(s): Robert Swifte, clerk, prebendary.

Subject of depositions: Manor or Grange called the Hallgarthe, in Elvet. Common of pasture on Elvetmoore, a piece of ground called Beansacre, parcel of Hallgarthe. Her Majesty's barony of Elvett. Customs of manor and tenants. A register book in the church of St Oswolds made by the prior and convent of the dissolved monastery of Durham.

County/place: Durham.

Date of commission: 4 July 1582.
