Description

Short title: Absolon v Whetstone.

Plaintiff(s): William Absolon, parson of the church of Cranefeld.

Defendant(s): Edward Whetstone.

Subject of depositions: Tithes of the rectory of Cranefeld, and decay of rectory house of Cranfield. Queen Elizabeth during the reign of Philip and Mary being then the Princess Elizabeth, was seized in her demesne of the manor of Cranfield; decay of the chancel of the church.

County/place: Bedfordshire.

Date of commission: 8 July 1579.

Additional information: interrogatories and depositions taken 23 September 1579 at Cranefeld.
