Appellant: Zacharia Charles Pearson of Kingston-upon-Hull, owner of the screw steamship Stettin. Respondent: Barker Fairley and John Clarke Fairley, both of Sunderland, owners of the brig Thornley, and William Thomas Bell, Charles William Bell, William Morrison Bell and John Bell, all of Sunderland, coal fitters, owners of her cargo, also Alexander Carr, her master and others, her crew. Subject: Collision between said vessels on 4 Feb 1862. Lower Court: High Court of Admiralty of England.
