Appellant: Ami Bernard and Ami Bernard, nephew, both of Manchester, owners of part of the cargo aboard the schooner Diligent. Respondent: Samuel Hyne of Brixham, Devon, owner of the schooner Diligent, and Francis Casey, owner of part of the cargo aboard the said schooner. Subject: Cargo lost in collision between said schooner and the ship Saracen on 11 Feb 1845. Lower Court: High Court of Admiralty of England.
