Miscellaneous correspondence This volume contains 71 letters to Lord John (from 1861 earl) Russell [JR], Foreign Secretary, from correspondents other than cabinet ministers, on various subjects as listed. The chief correspondent is the Earl of Clarendon (22 letters) who succeeded Earl Russell in October 1865 as foreign secretary in Russell's second cabinet.
