VOL. 1D Summary of Contents. (a) Copies of correspondence of Viscount Palmerston and H.M. ambassadors at St. Petersburg (Lord Heytesbury 1830-32; Earl of Durham 1832). (b) Lord Palmerston and Lord Heytesbury: Russia's intentions to subdue Poland following the Polish insurrection of 1830. Lord Heytesbury's reports on conversations with the Russian Foreign Minister, Count Nesselrode. Copy of Nesselrode's despatch, in French, to Prince Lieven, Russian ambassador in London. (fs. 1-114) (c) Lord Durham reports unchanged attitude of Russian government despite British and French protests. (fs. 115-32) (d) Lord Palmerston to J.R. returning Prince Czartorinski's report dated 26 Feb. 1832 [in French]
