Description

The records in this series are largely made up of draft paper depositions, which remained unfiled because a parchment duplicate was also produced.

There are as well lists of unpublished depositions; unfinished depositions taken in abandoned cases; bills and answers; and copies of bills, pleadings and affidavits. Records relating to fees figure prominently, including fee books, transmission books, accounts, vouchers and receipts.

Some office diaries survive from between 1852 and 1884. There is also an exhibit, the private day book of a Woolwich builders' merchant (1815-24).
