Request to Edward [II.] to hold Jordan de Insula, a member of the pope's household, excused for having appealed twice to the court of France against the actions of Anthony Pisaigne, knight, the king's seneschal in Gascony, who compelled him to give and accept a pledge to fight a duel with Alexander de Cavomonte, fixed a day, and although he afterwards prolonged the time, condemned Jordan for not fulfilling the pledge on the original day.
