Order to the bishop of Coventry to cause provision to be made to Ellis de Joneston, a poor clerk of his diocese, of a suitable benefice in the city or diocese of Coventry in the collation or provision of the archbishop of Dublin, if or when such shall be vacant. Constitutus in presentia . . . Lyons. 2 Id. Jan., 1 Clement [V.] Annexed: Notarial instrument dated 17 April 1306 containing a copy of a monition addressed by Philip Martel, a canon of Chichester, and commissary of the bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, to the archbishop of Dublin, concerning the collation of a benefice in the latter's gift upon Ellis de Joneston, in which the following documents are cited:- (i) Bull of Clement V. to the bishop of Coventry. Lyons. 12 Jan., 1306. (ii) Commission from W[alter de Langton,] bishop of Coventry and Lichfield, to masters Philip Martel, a canon of Chichester, and Geoffrey de Blaston, a canon of Lichfield, deputing them jointly or separately to execute the above bull Paris Passion Sunday (i.e. 20 Mar.), 1306.
