Exhortation to Edward [I.] not to suffer a dispute about a little piece of land to prevent the benefits that would result from peace between him and the king of France not only to their own realms but especially to the Holy Land. Also refusal to divert from the business of the Holy Land to the use of Edward [I.] that part of the tenth of ecclesiastical revenues for the first three years, not yet received by the king, and the whole of the tenth for the second three years of the six years for which it was imposed by Nicholas IV., but promise to grant to the king a moiety of a tenth for another three years, which the pope is imposing.
