Protection to Walter [de Gaunt], abbot, and the brethren of the Holy Cross of Waltham, with the following privileges:-- (i) The rule of St. Augustine to be observed therein for ever; (ii) confirmation of their possessions present and future; (iii) each abbot after his benediction to take an oath not to alienate the goods of the church; (iv) right of presentation to the churches of their possessions; (v) prohibition of undue exactions upon their churches; and (vi) right to celebrate the divine offices during a general interdict with closed doors, etc. Licet ex injuncte ...
