Description (What the record is about)
-
The records in this series consist mainly of drafts or duplicate copies of parts of patent rolls.
This miscellaneous collection was probably gathered together from the remains when the Rolls Chapel was being cleared of records. It is not generally known whether they were copies made in the course of the repository's work, but never used, or whether they were brought into the repository along with other records, possibly in error.
Among the letters patent included are three referring to the illegitimate sons of Charles II. There are also warrants for letters patent, and various other enrolments.
