Description

Correspondence received from 'offices' (Government departments and other organisations) and individuals on subjects concerning British Honduras. Correspondents and subjects are as follows: Offices:

  • Crown Agents (crude oil engineers at the Belize Electric Light and Ice Company, pipe water supply for Belize proposal, pensioners resident in the United Kingdom, proposal to appoint a buying agent, proposed loan);
  • Foreign Office (emigration of 'negroes' to Honduras, oil exploration in British Honduras and Guatemala);
  • Treasury (pension of H Bowdedge);
  • War Office (trigonometrical survey).
Miscellaneous:
  • Colonial Office (appointment of Mr N S Stevenson the Assistant Conservator of Forests, appointment of Mr T Patterson the Assistant Medical Officer, appointment of Major J E Hoar as Assistant Medical Officer, expedition of Mr Mitchell Hedges and the exclusive right to take photographs);
  • Inland Revenue (income tax);
  • British Museum (expedition of Mr Mitchell-Hedges, protection of fisheries, Maya site).
