Letters patent inspecting charter of Edward III inspecting (1) Charter of Henry, son of William the Conqueror, King of England, Duke of Normandy and Aquitaine and Count of Anjou, granting Auenant de Weleslie the Sergeanty from the east of Perret and demesnes in the same bailiwick to the bridge of Bristoll. Witnesses, dated at Sumerton, 4th. year (spurious). (cf. C.Ch.R., IV, p. 217). (2) Charter of Henry II confirming the same. Dated 5 April at Windeshores (spurious). (cf. C.Ch.R., V, p. 218). (3) charter of Henry III granting Henry de Wellesleye, Sergeanty from east of Peret as the water descends below the vill of Peret Revest, to the high sea under the head of the hill to the bridge of Bristoll, Sumertun, and demesnes in the bailiwick of Est Peter, Witnesses, dated at Westminster, 4 Ides July 12 Henry III. Confirmation to Philip de Wellesleye. Witnesses, dated at Wyngham, 24 April 5 Edward III (cf. C.Ch.R., IV, pp. 217-218). Confirmation to Thomas Kiryell kt. and Cecile, his wife. Great seal. (Ccf. C.P.R., 1446-1452, p. 260).
